Our tips for your holiday in Spain
Discover the most beautiful places in Spain
Spain is a big country. And that means there's a lot of room for beautiful things. You will find this in the cities, which often have beautiful historical influences because of the long history of the country. But also in nature, which can be seen in different forms in the country. That is why it is incredibly nice to rent a holiday home in Spain: you will never get bored in the country!
A city trip in Spain
Let's start with the first holiday idea: a city trip in Spain. The country has several big cities where you can walk around for days. Take Barcelona, for example. This city on the north-east coast of Spain is known for its football club, its cathedral and its shopping street. The former, FC Barcelona, is immediately the first place for a nice trip. The stadium of Barça, as they are popularly called, can be visited for a guided tour and offers a nice insight into the club's history.
If you visit the centre of the city, you won't escape a visit to De Ramblas. This kilometer long street through the center of Barcelona consists of shops, street artists, terraces and lots of people. If you take a side street of De Ramblas and walk north, you will eventually end up at La Sagrada Familia. This beautiful cathedral (still under construction) cannot be missed during your city trip to Spain.
A city trip in the south
Would you prefer a city break in the south of Spain? Then book a holiday home near Seville or Málaga. These cities in the south of Spain are just as worthwhile as Barcelona. Many people even see Seville as the most beautiful city in Spain. Seville is known for its sights, but you can also visit this city for food and drinks. Delicious wine is made in the city. And there you can for example eat delicious tapas with it. If you're in Seville you should definitely discover the different districts (for example Alameda with its many bars). We also recommend that you visit the many sights, such as the royal palace.
Nature in Spain
Not everyone is waiting for the hustle and bustle of the city. Fortunately, Spain also has a lot of natural beauty to offer. It is even the second country in the world with the most biosphere reserves. The different regions all have something unique to offer Spain's natural beauty. In the north of Spain, for example, you can look for bears and wolves, which are found in the region of Asturias. If you go to the centre of the country, you will come across many beautiful birds. If you book a holiday home here as a bird lover, don't forget your binoculars. Finally, you will come across an enormous coastline in southern Spain. It is heated by the 3000 hours of sunshine per year. That's 125 days of full sun! Here you can make lovely beach walks, but also enjoy the sea and the beach.
Beach holidays in Spain
Perhaps the most important reason for people to go on holiday to Spain is the wide range of beaches, coast, sun and sea. So you can have a beautiful holiday home on the Costa Brava. The Costa Brava has a coastline of 200 kilometers. It runs from the French border to about Blanes. And it is perhaps the most famous coastal region of Spain.
Another beautiful beach location is the Costa Blanca. This coastal strip has a total of 74 beaches spread over 244 kilometers. Most of these are sandy beaches, and therefore excellent for a nice day of relaxing on the coast.
Finally, we definitely recommend you to rent a holiday home on the Costa Dorada. A holiday on this stretch of coastline can be combined with a city trip to Barcelona.
